GIRO CENTRAL GREECE 1400

Ο Γύρος Κεντρικής Ελλάδος 1400 χλμ, είναι ένας ποδηλατικός μαραθώνιος μη ανταγωνιστικού χαρακτήρα (randonnée) και θα διοργανωθεί για τρίτη φορά στην Ελλάδα. Μία διαδρομή σε γνωστούς  ποδηλατικά δρόμους περνώντας από σημαντικούς αλλά και λιγότερο γνωστούς αρχαιολογικούς χώρους της χώρας όπου θα έχετε την ευκαιρία να τους γνωρίσετε κάνοντας ποδήλατο.

Η εκκίνηση θα δοθεί το πρωί της Κυριακής 18 Μαΐου 2025 από την Ελευσίνα. Η Ελευσίνα μία από τις πέντε πιο σημαντικές ιερές πόλεις της αρχαιότητας, μαζί με την αρχαία Αθήνα, την Ολυμπία, τους Δελφούς και τη Δήλο. Γενέτειρα του Αισχύλου, η πόλη των Ελευσίνιων Μυστηρίων προσέλκυε προσκυνητές από όλο τον τότε γνωστό κόσμο. Η λέξη Ελευσίνα είναι ομιλούν όνομα και προέρχεται από το ρήμα ελεύθω = έρχομαι. Δηλαδή ο τόπος της αφίξεως, του ερχομού, της παρουσίας, της αποκάλυψης. Έτσι και η λέξη Ελευσίς, με την ετυμολογία της και το μύθο της, μας δηλώνει την έλευση κάποιου σημαίνοντος γεγονότος.

Η εκκίνηση θα δοθεί στις 7:00 το πρωί την Κυριακή 18 Μαΐου 2025. Για να μπορέσετε να συμμετάσχετε θα πρέπει να έχετε κάποιο από τα παρακάτω προκριματικά. Ο σκοπός των προκριματικών είναι η εξασφάλιση εμπειρίας στις μεγάλες αποστάσεις για ελαχιστοποίηση των εγκαταλείψεων και φυσικά της προετοιμασίας των συμμετεχόντων.

• Ένα brevet 1000+ χιλιομέτρων από την 1^η Ιανουαρίου 2024 έως τις 20 Απριλίου 2025
• Μία σειρά Super Randonneur (200, 300, 400, 600 χλμ) από την 1^η Νοεμβρίου 2024 έως τις 5 Μαΐου 2025
• Συμμετοχή στο 6x200 Αθήνα - Αλεξανδρούπολη 2024.

Σημ.: όποιο από τα παραπάνω κριτήρια και να πληρείται, θα πρέπει να είστε σε καλή φυσική κατάσταση και να έχετε προπονηθεί αρκετά πριν την εκκίνηση ώστε να εξασφαλίσετε τον τερματισμό.

ENGLISH VERSION

Giro Central Greece 1400km is a grand randonnee for non-competitive cyclists that will take place for the third time. The route is passing by important and less-known archaeological site throughout  Greece. It's a randonnee through history. You will have the opportunity to discover all the history while cycling, from Aegean sea to Ioninan sea, crossing the mountains of Pindos mountain range, the coastal route of north Peloponnisos and the Corinth canal, a marvel of engineering for over a century.

Grand depart from Elefsina at Sunday 18 May 2025 in the morning. Elefsina (or Elefsis) for 2,000 years (1600BC - 400AD) one of the most important sacred cities of antiquity, along with ancient Athens, Olympia, Delphi and Delos. Birthplace of Aeschylus, the city of the Eleusinian Mysteries attracted pilgrims from all over the known world at the time. That is, the place of arrival, coming, presence, revelation. So also the word Eleusis, with its etymology and its legend, tells us the coming of some significant event, an ideal starting point of the Greek LRM.

The randonnee will start at 7:00AM on 18th May 2025. All the foreign riders first of all and before applying on this event must follow the instructions as described HERE to get a registration number that is mandatory to participate on any randonneuring event in Greece (no payment require on this step). If someone already has a registration number, you can check it here, then skip this stage. To participate to Giro Central Greece 1400 you must have one of the following qualifications.

• One 1000+km brevet from 1^st January 2024 until 20 April 2025
• A Super Randonneur series (200, 300, 400, 600 km) from 1^st November 2024 until 13 April 2025
• Participation in 6x200 Athens - Alexandroupoli 2024

Note: whichever of the above criteria is met, you must be in good physical condition and have trained sufficiently before the start to ensure the finish.
